.......Founded during the arts and crafts renaissance, we began handcrafting leather products in 1969. Over the years we learned and grew, sometimes stumbled, but always pressed ahead. We experimented with every facet of leather crafting; exhibiting at arts and crafts shows, selling our products wholesale, and opening our first store near the old Durango to Silverton narrow gauge railroad station in Silverton, Colorado. It was there we officially became the Leather Depot. In 1977, we moved to Big Bear Lake, California, and opened a store that prospers to this day.
.......Although we no longer make our own products, our knowledge of the leather trade, and our relationships within the leather industry, give us inside knowledge of the best leather products available today. Over the years we have built a reputation as innovative, knowledgeable, honest, and dependable shopkeepers. We believe there is no substitute for quality.
